Choices ....
Something 20/20 Vision Care Has Lots Of!

We have something for everyone over 1500 choices when it comes to the eyeglass frames.

Whether you wear glasses for seeing distance or near or both, there are lots of lens options. Again, new materials are leading the way. Airwear is a polycarbonate material which offers a light weight thin lens that has 100% UV protection and is 12 times more impact resistant than regular plastic lenses. If you wear the no line or progressive (invisible bifocal) lenses, new designs make them easier and easier to use. Wider reading areas and smoother graduations make for more natural vision. Combine these great lens choices with a hard scratch coating and/or an anti-reflective coating and they will provide you with exceptional lenses to look through as well as lenses that are easy to take care of.

Dr. Michael McClung - Optometrist

Dr. Michael McClung has been an Optometrist since 1986. He graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. Dr. McClung is married to wife Julia and has 4 children and 3 grandchildren. He has seen lots of changes and updates in the profession. His practice has evolved to accept and embrace these changes. "With Jim in the office taking care of patient's eyewear needs, I can concentrate on patient's eye health and eye examinations." Prescribing glasses isn't the main reason behind eye examinations. The biggest reason is checking eye health. Checking for glaucoma, looking inside the eye itself to check for cataracts, detect eye disease and medical eye problems is vital to healthy eyes. Catching problems before they get too far advanced is crucial to eye health. Being able to do eye health assessments is the difference between a professional eye examination and an automated sight or eye test.

Dr. McClung has seen corrective laser surgery become a little more popular and though not for everyone, he can certainly do post operative check-ups. Looking after contact lenses is also part of the professional eyecare package offered at 20/20 Vision Care. New materials and disposable lenses offer patients exciting new choices.

Call Dr. McClung for all your family's eye examination needs.

Dr. Clark Hyde - Optometrist

Dr. Clark Hyde, a new graduate from the university of Waterloo School of Optometry, looks forward to his home community of Medicine Hat. Dr. Hyde and his wife are the proud parent of 2 children. Throughout his education, Dr. Hyde has taken a special interest in ocular disease, pediatric vision care and vision therapy among other things. Dr. Hyde is the recipient of The COVD Award of Excellence in Vision Therapy and he recognizes that perfect, comfortable vision is more then just 20/20 eyesight.

Dr. Hyde's first exposure to optometry happened as a 5 year old child when his mother took him to his first eye exam. Although hi parents had no concerns with his vision at the time, they were shocked to discover that one of his eyes was nearly blind. The doctor and his devastated parents did everything they could to restore functional vision to his poorer eye but with little to no progress. Dr. Hyde is motivated by his and his parent's experiences while he was a child and hopes to help families who may find themselves in these situations. He considers his eye condition a great blessing and asset to the way he cares for his patients.

Dr. Hyde also brings experience with advancements in ocular technology and treatments and together with Dr. McClung, they hope to do more for the vision and ocular health of the community than ever before.

Jim Stewart - Licensed Optician

Jim has been dealing with fashion eyewear since 1979. His optical experience didn't start there, it started three years earlier at the age of 15 working part time in an optical lab after school. He became a Licensed Optician in 1983 after completing the opticians program. Jim has two boys, Tyler and Zachary. He is also very actively involved in the community and is a past president of the Medicine Hat Rotary, and a past director of the Chamber of Commerce.
